Lupus Landmark Study

Lupus Landmark Study

LUNA is proud to participate in the Lupus Landmark Study (LLS). Led by the Lupus Research Alliance (LRA), the LLS is a one-of-a-kind, long-term study of lupus. It will follow 3,500 people over time and collect health information to help researchers better understand the disease and improve patient care.

People living with lupus helped design the study and will continue to play a central role by taking part in it. Their involvement will help generate the information needed to develop treatments that focus on patients’ needs.

Lupus affects everyone differently and changes over time. People of all ages and backgrounds live with lupus, but it is especially common among women and communities of colour.

To drive meaningful breakthroughs, researchers need data that reflects the diversity of the lupus community and how the disease presents in each individual. However, access to standardized, high-quality biological samples and long-term clinical data is still limited. Because lupus is a complex autoimmune disease, collecting and sharing these datasets is essential to advancing research and improving outcomes.
